Officials from the World Bank’s Livestock Productivity & Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) visited Obelawo Multipurpose Events Hall in Ijagbo
The officials of World Bank Project: Livestock Productivity & Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), Kwara State were at Obelawo Multipurpose Events Hall, Ijagbo today to discuss opportunities in goat and sheep farming and possible assistance with goats and sheep farmers in Offa and Oyun Local Governments.
The interactive meeting discussed best practices on goat and sheep farming, the opportunities in goat and sheep value chain, access to inputs and finance, sales, supports as well as other benefits for Ibolo goat and sheep farmers.
LPRES urged farmers to consider forming community based cooperative societies and clusters to benefit from World Bank and government interventions.
LPRES officials commended Ibolo people for having a chamber of commerce which will facilitate direct support from the organization.
Among the participants at the meeting were the Olora of Ijagbo High Chief Mudashiru Ajiboye as well as representatives from Offa, Erin Ile, Ijagbo, Ira Ahogbada and other communities in Ibolo land.
