Food Revolution is Crucial TO Agricultural Development in Ibolo Land – Dr. Oyeleke
A former Dean (Academics) of the College of Engineering, Kaduna Polytechnic, Dr. Oyeleke Rafiu has stated that the importance of agriculture and the food revolution cannot be underestimated in repositioning Ibololand as the agricultural hub of Kwara State.
He stated this on Saturday, while delivering lecture as a guest speaker on the topic “Repositioning Ibolo Land as the Agricultural Hub of Kwara State: Integrated Organic and Urban Farming Perspective” at the 4th Council Meeting of the Ibolo Chamber of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) in Irra, Oyun local government area of Kwara State.
Dr. Oyeleke added that agriculture and food revolution will help people figure out the importance of fresh and healthy agricultural products in their daily life. This, he believes, should be elucidated for all and sundry in the society.
He explained that it is essential that both adults and children have knowledge about food and nutrition, as well as dual role they play as part of the healthy lifestyle.
He subsequently commended ICCIMA for the tremendous efforts and giant strides toward peace, growth, and development in Ibolo land.
Also speaking, the President of ICCIMA, Mr. Paul Olagunju thanked the royal father, Onira of Ira, Oba Abdulwahab Oyetoro, and his council for contributing to the development of the Chamber.
Olagunju, who was ably represented by Deputy President, Engr. Bashir Lawal said that the theme of the meeting came at the right time with the current state of the nation’s economy.
He stressed further that ICCIMA is fast becoming one of the most important pillars of advocacy, stability, and development in Ibolo land.
He, therefore, called on credible businesses within and outside Ibololand to join ICCIMA in the journey to further develop the social economy in Ibolo land.
