ICCIMA Opens Expression Of Interest For Agricultural Land In Ojoku

LOWER NIGER RIVER BASIN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY/ OJOKU COMMUNITY LAND FOR AGRICULTURAL PURPOSES
CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
The Ibolo Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has secured hectares of agricultural land at Ojoku in Oyun Local Government, Kwara State for crop farming.
The land secured through the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority and Ojoku Community is now available for allocation to interested farming individuals, groups and organizations.
ICCIMA is hereby calling on such individuals to express interest in the allocation of land for agricultural purposes.
A. PROCEDURE FOR LAND ALLOCATION
Interested individuals, groups and organizations are to:
1. Obtain land allocation form at the ICCIMA Office, 1, Irra Road, Offa and return the completed form;
2. Pay required registration fee of N5,000 on submission of form;
3. Successful applicants to be contacted for the inspection of the land if requested.
4. The applications are to be screened based on established criteria and successful applicants contacted.
B GENERAL GUIDELINES
1. Prospective allotees is expected to be a member of ICCIMA or ready to take up ICCIMA membership before commencing activities on the land;
2. The land may only be used for farming annual crops or for other commercial activities as may be approved by ICCIMA from time to time;
3. The usage of the land will be subjected to review annually and ICCIMA will reserve the right to, at any time, terminate the allocation due to unsatisfactory usage;
4. Each allotee may be allocated a maximum of 5 hectares of the land, unless the ICCIMA Exco through the Implementation Committee determines that extra land is available and a particular allottee will need more and is capable of effective utilization;
5. Each allotee will pay the prescribed annual land use charge of N15,000 per hectare at the beginning of each year; But pay immediately on confirmation of allocation now;
6. ICCIMA will be ready to clear/harrow/plough the land for allottee on payment for such services;
7. Allotee is expected to move to site within 2 months of allocation, or the allocation may be reviewed;
8. Allottee is expected to pay prescribed operational fees as may be determined by ICCIMA from time to time in the interest of safety of investment and economic development of Ibolo land. Such payment may take into consideration, security, infrastructural development of the site etc.; and
9. Allotee is expected to sign an MOU or agreement on the proper and effective usage of the land allocated; and
PLEASE NOTE: The land is strictly for agricultural purposes and does not confer perpetual ownership on allottee.
