BRIEF HISTORY
The lbolo communities of Kwara State include thetowns of Offa, Erin lle, ljagbo, Ira, Ipee. llemona, Ojoku, Igosun, Igbawere and lkotun all of which are predominantly agrarian communities with huge potentials for foreign and national investment that could lead to industrialization. The incessant related communal disputes led to the formation of lbolo Peace Parley (IPP) to find a solution to the crisis and ensure lasting peace in the region. The lIbolo Peace Parley (IPP) identified two pillars that have the potential to make any community or nation great, namely “peace, and economic empowerment”. Consequently, it was proposed that the establishment of a Chamber of Commerce and Industry will further build economic unity as well as ensure sustainable development of the region. In June 2019, selected indigenes comprising industrialists, professionals and educationists from each of the 10 communities came together as subscribers to work with a consultant on the establishment of the Chamber of Commerce. The name Ibolo Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines
and Agriculture (ICCIMA) was agreed upon, thus setting the ball rolling for what we have today.
